Awards

The SPS regularly awards various prizes to different target groups.

The traditional SPS Awards are given since 1991 and are aimed at young physicists at the start of their career (until at latest 5 years after the defense of a PhD thesis).

The Charpak-Ritz Prize is awarded jointly with the Société Française de Physique since 2017, alternating annually for exceptional achievements in Switzerland or France.

Since 2009, the prize for the promotion of young talents of the SPS, the Young Talent Prize, is awarded to the best participants in the Swiss Physics Olympiad.

Since 2020, the SPS also supports Schweizer Jugend forscht and gives the SPS Youth Award to the best finalist.
