The section fosters research in physics which contributes to a future with sustainable and environmentally friendly energy production, distribution, transmission, storage, and consumption for all, while concurrently undertaking immediate measures to reduce energy consumption and mitigate environmental impacts within SPS members’ research endeavors. We are dedicated to developing a culture of sustainability awareness, driving consciousness on environmental issues and motivating physicists in R&D to act through their research, especially on the energy sector, with societal and political impact.
